I had no idea that women had played so many intricate and important parts in our history, especially during war times. An excellent presentation of their contribution.
Men too often get most of the publicity and press for service to America while in uniform. Completed in 1997 the memorial recognizes the critical roles women have performed in America's military. It contains a series of exhibits about the contributions of women to national defense.
I was waiting on a shuttle bus to see Arlington National Cemetery when the guide said that I had time to take a quick look at the museum for Women in Military Service for American at the main entrance to the cemetery grounds. I am glad that I did. I will want to go back some time to take more... 更多
This place shows some of the awards given to the women in the US military and highlights the role women played during some wars (e.g. WWII). It is not a large museum, but it's worth seeing if you're in the area (Arlington Nat'l Cemetery).
Whilst walking around the cemetery I came upon this site and on entering to find a wonderful exhibit dedicated to the women of the armed services who gave themselves to the US Military and its cause. On reading their stories on how they felt during their experiences. A glimpse into history. A delight.
