I just love taking my toddler here. The boardwalk over the restored marshes is both fun and peaceful. So much wildlife to scope out. My daughter can't get enough of the lookout tower (the castle). The nature center is a lot of fun too
This is an amazing place to visit. be sure to grab a map of the park before proceeding. I took my 90 year old father who uses a rollator. He loves to see wetlands and wildlife. The walk to the boardwalk over the wetlands was farther than I remembered. My father ended up needing to take several rests before we... 更多
I love to photograph wildlife. This a great area to see birds, turtles, beavers, and other wildlife. I highly recommend this park if you are in the Northern VA area. This is a short drive from DC. There is a beautiful boardwalk in the wetlands part of the park. This is a great park to relax and hear the sounds... 更多
A well maintained, easy, wooded trail along with a boardwalk through the wetlands makes this park out to be a great time, no matter the weather and no matter the age. The visitor center (when open) is a pleasant addition to the experience, with bathrooms and a nice reception area.

I have been coming to this place for years! Take a relaxing stroll through the woods and over the wetlands. You always see wildlife!! Especially pretty in the fall.
Serene, beautiful, relaxing very easy walking. The entire walk is only a couple miles and you wish it was more. Maybe just walk it again I am sure the wild life and plants will be even better on the second round. Do speak with the people in the Visitors Center as they are very well versed on the history of... 更多
New growth is just starting to appear. Right as you enter the wetlands area you are in for a treat. One of the beaver damns is starting to overtake the boardwalk. We saw turtles, beavers, mated pairs of mallard ducks and geese, herons, finches in the underbrush bullfrogs and some raptor bird of pray was dive fishing. A really great... 更多
