Nice little park to visit if you are looking for something to do in the Austin area. It is not too far from Mount Bonnell. Nice easy trails around fish ponds, trees and interesting vegetation. Be sure to see the peacocks. Actually they will probably find you. They are not afraid of people and come very close. A very quiet,... 更多
There are lots of peacocks with some fishes and turtles in the garden. Garden is not so great but the hiking trail is really a heaven. though the trail is very small (may be 1.5 miles) but its really beautiful and especially lake trail is very beautiful.
Believe it or not, this park is absolutely free. There's also free parking, making this a perfect budget stop. The gardens are small, but beautiful. They feature lovely stone walls, ponds, a cottage tower, a sundial, and manicured garden beds. The best part is all the peacocks roaming the grounds. They're beautiful! We didn't explore the walking trail, only the... 更多
Attraction is free, parking limited - people were parking on road outside. Allow ~ 1 HR for trails and garden. There are also a few picnic tables and a porta potty. Overall the place is a little rundown - trail paths are rough and could be marked better. Garden is quaint, however, small. We came out of our way to... 更多
I have never met any peafowl before Mayfield, but those I met here have spoiled me for others. These were friendlier and more docile peas than I expected. We were able to walk quite close to them without scaring them off. We also saw some lovely ponds with water lilies, tadpoles, flowers, and plenty of grackles. Nice place for a... 更多
If you like to relax and mediate, you need to visit here. It is amazing that so many peacocks live here. You see them cross the street sometimes as well. This is a place to visit during the cooler month and not in the hot summer. This is also a great place for taking pictures m
It was a dull overcast day with the occasional shower but this did not dampen our enjoyment. The gardens and ponds are a delight to wander around but will not take you long. The tracks outside of the walled gardens are not too demanding and are a fantastic way to get away and enjoy the bush and river trails. We... 更多
I visited on a weekend and was the only one there. It was a really peaceful and relaxing visit. I was able to take some great shots of the peacocks and photographed all of the butterflies that were fluttering around!
Peacocks, Lily Pads, Turtles and Gorgeous Gardens cared for by local volunteers. Carefree walk through the gardens and around the 1800's cottage. Peacocks very used to humans gladly spread their feathers and parade around. Can see this part of Mayfield in 30 minutes or relax and hang around for as long as you would like. Note: pathways are rough so... 更多
We go there to do light hiking through the pathways and see the beautiful cottage, gardens, and peacocks who roam around. Nice area, easy to go with younger kids.
