Patterned after Wrigley Field this history ball field - Kokernot Field is well worth a visit. Well kept up, the Alpine Cowboys play here from late May to early August. However, for the history, the beautiful field is a place to see.
Thanks to a long ago Texas Monthly article I had Kokernot Field on my bucket list. Worth it, but for different reasons.

We were staying at the Lost Alaskan RV park, which is only 5 minutes from the field, so why not. We saw the O6 Alpine Cowboys play the White Sands Pup-fish. Beautiful evening to relax and enjoy great seats - I think the seats are all 6.00 each. Refreshing change from the crowds, traffic, and expense of a major league...
I have been to a lot of ball parks and this is my favorite. The story of how a local rancher built the stadium in the 40's and started his own team because he loved baseball makes this place endearing. Low ticket prices, free parking, cheap beer and eats. Best way to spend a summer afternoon.
Beautiful field, great prices and all seats have great view. The players were much better than expected and everyone was friendly. People would stop and visit with us and the ball players on both teams were playing with the kids and having a good time. It was like baseball should be.
