Recommended by an Italian friend, Va La was a wonderful surprise, a wonderful afternoon! Not only is the tasting a great value, with four wines paired with cheeses, olive oil, and bread, but the wines are unique and good! Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, and didn't rush us; instead he adapted to our pace. The tasting bar is rustically... 更多
Finally visited this spectacular place yesterday and am so glad we did! The reds are probably the best I've tasted in PA! The complexity and variety this family is able to produce on a little over 7 acres is remarkable! Wines were excellent if you enjoy them dry, which I do! Cyndy our wine guide, could not have been more... 更多
Went to three other wineries in the Brandywine area and this was by far the best. Even though the price is $20 , your wine is paired with cheeses, breads, and chocolate. Well worth the price. Loved the Mahogany red wine. The cheeses are local and taste splendid. There are 2 tasting areas, one up and one downstairs. You can... 更多
We had a lovely time at Va La enjoying a wine tasting and a jazz concert. For $20, you sampled "4 wines and a "splash" of a fifth wine." Each of the wines come with a food pairing and start off with a dry white and end with a dry red. The grounds in the back were relaxing and enjoyable... 更多
Surprising to find good wine in Pennsylvania. The wines are overpriced but they are good. So if you are going for a fun afternoon of wine tasting it's a great place to go. You can also bring a picnic lunch and purchase a bottle of wine and sit outside. It's a beautiful view overlooking the vineyard.
I use to frequent this winery years ago. It actually use to be one of my favorite wineries in PA. Not anymore. It has drastically gone down hill in my eyes. The fiancée had never visited, so I wanted to show the place off. First off, the tastings are $20 a piece. A little steep for tasting only five wines.... 更多
Have been to Anthony's place many times since he opened. His wines are wonderful and complex. I know of no other winemaker with the level of consistent quality across all offerings. It is a family run place. Always has been. Very small which of course can frustrate a large group. Pricing reflects demand which unfortunately means that we visit less... 更多
Va La is a pleasant place to spend an hour or so but there is little to do. Wine and store are okay. If you are on your way back to Philly from Lancaster on Rte. 41 it is a nice place to stop, stretch your legs and browse.
Good wine costs money. But sometimes you run across a place where the quality of the wine makes even a relatively expensive bottle a great value. Va La is one of those wines. The flavor and heat make it impossible to stay away. I love this place.
We were out for a lark to visit PA wineries and we made a delightful find. Va La VIneyards is a small property making less than a thousand cases annually, therefore they have no distribution so you need to go there to get the wine. The wines are worth the trip.
