I have visited this museum many times and have always seen something new. They have visiting exhibits and in the summer free admission on Thursdays. Great for a rainy day or scolding hot day! Your visit can be as long as you wish. Go though quickly or read everything. Perfect for everyone.
My family and I enjoyed this small but fantastic museum. They have a wonderful mix of old and new pieces while also displaying many different mediums. The structure itself is a work of art. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves expressive art.
I love art, so if there is an art museum wherever I'm visiting then I'm make it a mission to stop by. The building is beautiful and feels like part of the exhibit. They have an impressive range of modern, contemporary, and installation art. Though one may not think of Akron when considering artistic destinations, their exhibits were intriguing, fun,... 更多
While the collection is small it is rich, representing many turn of the century artists. The smaller gallery to the left greets you with a huge Sol Lewit geometrical piece. It was painted on the wall by local artists. The galleries upstairs are largely represented by modern art. A smaller gallery holds photographs celebrating our National Parks. Don't miss it.
I can't believe it took me so many years to visit this museum. It is relatively small and reflects the tastes of relatively few donors. There an old wing that is largely from the early 20the century and includes artists with some connection to NE Ohio. The larger newer wing includes temporary exhibitions and contemporary pieces that vary in quality... 更多
The Akron art museum is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. There is free admission on Thursdays and it is a great way to spend time with your family.
The building itself is a work of art. It's a small museum, but it has some beautiful interesting pieces. My husband and I stopped here just to see "The Land" photographs. It's not a big exhibit, but it was well done. There's a lot of modern art in this museum, but they do have beautiful "traditional" paintings by local artists.... 更多
For a small museum they have a lot going on. We love the Akron Art Prize, Art Walk, concerts, Empty Soup Bowl, craft show... they just seem to always have something going on. I love the changing exhibits and community events that make it different every time.
There is on section with decent older paintings and some photographs, the rest of the exhibits are laughable. It seems like they were about to open the museum and they had nothing to show and they went to the dumpster and pulled out whatever they found! (I'm sorry but a jar with nail clippings is not art!)
