There is as nice assortment of planes in the 2 hangers. There are lots of displays about WWII also. They also have many warbird models on display along with military jeeps and a few assorted antique cars. They also have one of the 4 presidential cars built for President Harry Truman. It is a 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan.
We visited the NC Aviation Museum while we were camping at Zooland Family Campground. It's not very far from Zooland Campground and an inexpensive attraction that will take about 1-2 hours depending on how long you spend in the museum. My husband and father-in-law were both in the Air Force so as you can imagine, they really enjoyed it and... 更多
A great mixture of air and history, covering many eras of flight, and different War eras. The store has a great mixture and many models. You step into the museum and you see a model of the first flight..Wright brothers plane, Japanese history. Presidential vehicles. Staff very friendly, a must see for any War buff.
If you are into aviation and especially during WW2 era, you will enjoy the displays and planes. I am not sure small kids would enjoy it as much, as it offers no hands on displays. It is a bit warm in the facility during the summer months. We visited during a 1940's Swing Dance they had at the hanger. It... 更多
We really wanted to like this attraction more than we did. It's got lots of historical items and some of them are aviation related. There are a few planes, lots of models, and tons of other related military relics on display. It was very informative, just not as aviation centered as we were expecting. Good fly-in destination. No air conditioning... 更多
It is a great place to read about history and step back in time. There is some wonderful books and video there. The planes, vehicles and other donations are special to everyone who enjoys their freedom living here in the USA. Thank you to all veterans and families who provided a lot of the materal there.
I've gone to the annual fly-in each summer to see all the vintage aircraft. I especially enjoy seeing the WWII planes on display. I always stay longer than I plan to just wandering around the museum, too. It's a great way to share a day with someone you love! Take a child!
