Fascinating set of ruins on the way down to the beach. Well worth spending a few hours wandering around them and reading the descriptions provided. Hardly anybody else around and you can watch as they are excavating. Brilliant photos to be had. Take plenty of water if going in the day as can be hot, phew.
There is so much to see here and much of it is in the process of being restored. Both amphitheatres are amazing. We got some brilliant photos. Be sure to go later in the day when it has cooled down slightly.
Wonderful ruins that you can get up close and personal with - no health and safety 'keep of the grass' mentality here. Makes you feel a part of it.
If you are prepared to do your own research on what you are seeing, this is a great way to miss the crowds and see amazing ruins. Cloudy day resulted in visit to Pataya beach and the ruins there. So interesting and the ruin area was really atmospheric. incredible that they have been excavated. Well worth a visit. The beach bar served simple food and the beach is wonderful
Recently visited here with my wife. The ruins themselves are a decent cultural experience, but not in the same way as those in Rome or the pyramids in Cairo. Really enjoyed visiting this site as there were very few tourists at the site. We had most of the ruins to ourselves. There were lots of turtles near the back of the site that were a bonus for the kids.
