There are a large number of bridges in St Petersburg which cross the numerous canals. This one happens to be painted blue, and is close to St Isaac's Cathedral and the statue of Nicholas I, but otherwise is much the same as all the others.
the blue bridge lies at the back of st. Isaacs cathedral, square and palace. it is so wide that you can not see it as a bridge, in fact wider than longer.
you have to look for the blue railings to appreciate its enormous width. for its very wideness parts of it are being used as parking space.
