Lovely museum, small but perfectly formed! Beautifully designed displays and plenty of information about Sharjah's maritime past. The use of the life size exhibits give visitors a much better idea. Next to the aquarium so well worth getting a combined ticket and making a day of it. Nice kids play area between the museum and aquarium if its not too... 更多
One of the most wonderful museum housing real life sizes replica of ships of ancient times used by UAE to trade, fishing, etc..Nicely maintained and a lot of hard work taken in to shape up this place.
Beautiful setting. Nice modern architecture of the building, very nice museum with lots of information displayed in a very interesting way shedding light on the history of Sharjah and the sea. Again a very good effort from Sharjah / Shurooq to promote the culture.
Genuine and fascinating display of technology of the maritime merchant and fishing boats in the Arabian gulf area and the wider commercial region. I wish I would have spent a longer time to read and listen to all media info properly.
Compare to maritime museums around the world, this one is quite small. It talks about the dhow history and pearl culture of the region. The entry fee is less but it is good if you combine along with the aquarium, which is co-located, so as to get a good deal.
Sharing the location with Sharjah aquarium, Sharjah maritime museum is worth seeing. You can view the history, maritime culture and heritage of Sharjah. If you couple the ticket with Sharjah aquarium, you save money as well... Wheel chair provided free of cost for the disabled and is wheel chair accessible...
A lovely new facility with artifacts of the Golf's maritime heritage on display. Very interesting and informative. Not ideal for grabby small children (maybe just mine....) but there is a playground outside for them if you decide to go anyway!
The content of this museum leads us to the life of fishermen, as well as catching pearls. When you buy a ticket, you will get in to both places, this maritime museum and aquarium. Outside of this museum is also a play ground for kids.
The museum presents an extraordinary exhibition of material related to the role of Sharjah and as a trading port on the Arabian gulf. I found it a very rich in its gathering together of personal stories, audio, and combined with the artifacts very educational. Lots of archival film footage and photos tracing the pearl and its role in the pre-oil... 更多
