this is a great historic place. very nice location with a beautiful view to the City and the Black Sea. Hagia Sophia still has wonderful frescos which are open to the public without visiting the mosque part.
With nice panoramic views this old orthodox church preserves a very interesting fresco painting alonmg its walls. Interesting also how the former church has been adapted as mosque.
It was a good visit to such a beautiful charming place! Makes you think of the architects who excellently made this building with all its details and the painters who did magnificent piece of art on the walls! Superb place if you are a history lover...
This used to be a greek church and is now a working mosque. There is no entrance ticket and it isn't half as commercialised as it's counterpart in istanbul. Lovely grounds, beautiful interior and a lighthouse-turned-minaret in the compound make it a gorgeous sight sitting atop a hill. Great views from here are an added bonus.
This building is ancient. It was a Greek church with frescoes, etc. It is no longer a museum as listed, now it is a mosque.
