The place is full of caves, carved by people to hide. They built a city in rocks, with churches, houses, kitchens, and all. Some of the paintings are still well preserved, and you can fell the history. I recommend to get a audio guide/ city tour guide.
We visited there with our children ages 5-16, and they all really enjoyed it. There is much more there to see than I had expected. It's a good walk, and lots of stairs. There was a very helpful guide that walked along with us and showing our kids which caves were safe to go in and which ones weren't. There... 更多
Visiting this place was completely amazing. You could see how people lived many years ago in the mountains. Besides, you can see the chimneys formed by the wind and walk among them... These places are awesome and are something you won't see in any other place in the world.
A once in a lifetime opportunity that should be discovered. The ancient churches and frescos are astonishing. Cave dwelling pagans and Christians have left a wonderfully preserved site for future generations to explore. The energy and the magnificent volcanic caves gives a feeling of awe. I will never forget the expierience I had at this open air museum. Breathtaking views... 更多
This was a definite must, to complete our itinerary of Capadoccia. Try to get there early, to avoid lines, and the heat. We were amazed by all the churches.
Spent nearly 2 hours wandering through this amazing place. A fairly warm and sunny day so were glad we had hats as it gets quite hot. Nowhere near the crowds you get at the Goreme Open Air Museum, which was a plus. Fascinating history. Cannot be accessed by public transport.
Go. Just book a ticket and go. Cappadocia is even better than everyone tells you it is. No postcard, photograph, travellers tale or post can even begin to tell the story of Cappadocia. It touches your soul. It brings alive all your sense. It is simply spellbinding over and over again. All the museums and monuments in the whole Cappadocia... 更多
Having seen the Goreme one, Zelve Open Air Museum appealed more to us being less crowded and offering almost the same kind of caves and things. The entrance fee of 10 TL is apt as one gets to see unique ancient dwellings and cave houses. The place is easy to move around due to good sign posting. Just before the... 更多
