This place is very nice -- tons of very good local crafts (carvings, beads, tanzanite, etc) plus a very nice art gallery that sells the work being displayed. Then there is a cafe and t-shirt shops... a very nice touristy stop for your tour of Arusha.

We spent quite a bit of time in the gallery. The architecture of the gallery/museum and outdoor artwork was really interesting. The circular design lent a nice organization to our tour. Inside were fascinating collections of relics - all for sale, and wonderful artwork. The shops there are crammed full of all sorts of local artwork and work from throughout... 更多
After discovering that the "Tanzanite Experience" in downtown Arusha was closed, as in apparently out of business, our driver recommended we visit the Cultural Heritage Centre to see and learn about tanzanite. It was a terrific recommendation. The owner spent a lot of time with us, teaching us about tanzanite and African diamonds. There was no pressure to buy, although... 更多
Nice setup; lot of varieties at the Cultural Heritage Centre. But agreed with other reviews that most of the goods are overpriced. Quite comical when you ask the sales person for the price and he immediately said "the price is $xyz, but I will give you 50% off"
