We stumbled upon this place on accident on our way walking to the traditional village. It was ok most of the shops were closed, but they had some interesting places.
In all honesty, the historic area of Gyeongju, while interesting, is not the most exciting ancient cityscape in the world. It has some moderately interesting sites, but nothing is awe-inspiring. Too much has been lost over time and not enough facilities have been put in place.
Unless you really are paying attention it is easy to miss a lot of the sights, some of them are tucked away. Near the bus terminal you can get a map for free with the sights.
