I recommend you get the tour guide (it may be compulsory) to learn the history. It was flooded, for example, in 1866, which is why the marble is discoloured. A fascinating walk, albeit run down. I do wish the government would assist in restoring this to what it was. A step back in time for sure.
We really enjoyed our tour here - compared to similar tours in Jogja, our guide was very enthusiastic and didn't rush the tour at all - we learned alot from him and appreciated his obvious dedication to the royal family and preserving the culture of this site. We also learned alot about Solo that enhanced the rest of our time... 更多
The entrance is cheap and you even get a private guide with you. Amazing my guide spoke fluent Dutch and knew everything about the palace and the royal family. The well is really wel maintenance, the royal family is still living there.
This is a nice place to spend about an hour and it's fairly interesting. This palace is in better shape and more interesting then any other including the one in Yogyakarta although still not very big. There is a necessary guide as it's still being used by the royal family but they are friendly and informative. The history is nice... 更多
Visitors to this place are accompanied by a guide - the guide is mandatory to explain to us about the history and the displays. No fee is set up for the guide, you pay what you think is worth it. When I was there, I've heard at least English, Spanish and Dutch speaking guides. Pura Mangkunegaran is still used as... 更多
Not great, not terrible. Like the kranton in Yogya, this palace is also currently inhabited by the sultan, which to me is still the most interesting part -- that I got to see this living museum. If you want to add to your collection of knowledge of local royal families and customs, it's worth a visit.
visit on June , Since read on trip adviser this is part of the attraction , So I just went for a visit , Total tour is around less than an hour, they will be a guide bring you walk around the palace , since the Sultan and family is still staying in the compound . Overall its ok for... 更多
I found this place when I visited my father's place. I drove pass to find the entrance. Apparently they have several entrances. The palace is easier to access then the other one. It close to main road. The guide took me to walk around the palace and museum. The palace has huge collections from different generations. Unfortunately, lack of maintenance... 更多
