This mandapam is inside the Famous Madurai Meenakshi temple. Very interesting thousand pillared mandapam. Has lot of sculptures carved on each pillar and it is very elegantly carved. The Mandapam and the museum is a great feast for a history buff. It reminded me my visit to the London museum depicting the Nataraja statue and a lot of idols in Panchaloha.
Aayiram kaal mandapam is a part of the Sri Meenakshi Temple. This Mandapam built with 1000 pillars. The carvings and statues on each of the pillars are unique and fabulous. There is a Temple Art Museum in the hall where icons, photographs, drawings, and other exhibits of the 1200 years old history of the temple is displayed.
Do not forget to visit this Mandapam. It is a part of temple and has got magnificent carvings, various idols. Most of them depict Indo-Chinese culture. And beautiful Lord Nataraja's temple in the center. There is also a miniature of entire temple complex there.

We dont know how many years it will take to have a construction site like this in modern days. Purely superb piece of art and imagination. There is a small museum and that too a must visit place.
