Sawai madhopur famous for some historical fort. One of them is khandar fort which is very beautiful. It is away 50 km from sawai madhopur. For visit this place, you must have good stamina because there are very long walking way. For taking some rest, there are also good facilities like food, water, park etc.
If you are visiting this place, you need a good stamina and enough water supply. After a tiring morning safari, i was not so fit to take up the long walk on the fort. A long climb but worth while when you see the view from the top. The upkeep of the fort is not as it should be and one should be careful as leopards roam around freely in this area.
Khandar fort is a nice place to visit for history buffs. You can have an amazing view of the wildlife reserve and the lake. Nice place have some time in looking at the horizon.

It is astonishing that only 10% of visitors to Ranthambhore National Park make it up to the fort. It is a huge, rambling ruin of a place but with great vistas over one of the lakes. Nice fort overlooking the wildlife reserve . Adds a lot of character to the entrance. The lake / large pond within the fort is littered and needs to be cleaned up. The temple use be a quaint and small one but is not been maintained and has filth around.
