This might b gud for history lovers.. It is well maintained..But didn't create any impression in my mind.. For me its just a place where u can relax after going to the light house, which is a must-go ... nothing much to see in there
If you have ample time in hand, do consider visiting. Try to visit in the morning and evening, else it will be really hot. Also this fort needs some climbing through unprotected concrete stairs. hence not really recommended for elders. And kids should not be allowed to wander freely. A well maintained fort by the Archaeological Survey of India which is built by The British. This fort has enough importance in the history of English East India Company. The Site is having great view of the Sea from the top and is having a Lighthouse nearby. Good place to visit.

This is the only fort around Varkala, but there is not much here to see. The entry is free and you and click a few snaps. There is nothing much else here. A lighthouse is nearby and if you visit at the right time you can enter the light house too.
this is the first fort built by the British in Travancore, which later established their supremacy in power. Well preserved by ASI (work is still on) and it lies at a scenic location between Trivandrum and Varkala
You get some good views of the beach and there is an information panel to learn some history. You're better off going to the lighthouse which is adjacent though.
