This is a short tuk tuk ride from Varkala and is well worth visiting. The saint advocated the abolishing of the caste system and there are many interesting signs in the trees advising the followers not to seek money; to work hard etc etc. There is a temple which is very interesting if you go during the prayers - it's... 更多
The place is located away from the city centre, not much to see. Its usually a place where people get married and marriage ceremony is brief, I happened to attend one there which hardly lasted for like 5 minutes. They do serve tasty food and desserts after the marriage.
A friend suggested this place, so we decided to visit. For non-malyalis it is difficult to understand what is happening. The significance of the place is nice and it has a meditative feel to it, and seeing all the devotees is a very humbling experience. If you visit around lunch time (12:30 to 1:30) do have a meal here (Rs.... 更多
its worth going there if u are in varkala . tough there is no activity as such happening they do have a good lunch at times. rather serene place
An interesting place to visit. Again like all other temples and sacred sites it would be much better to have morevsigns in English so you can absorb more of whatbis going on. I was told that signs were posted with spiritual quotes but all in Malalayam. It was a peaceful place and enjoyed the visit.
We wanted to visit the Varkala beach and our cab driver mentioned that we should visit this ashram also. This is an ashram which is on a small hillock. We went there around 1 PM and there was not much crowd. We were able to see the temple and the Samadhi of the guru here. The whole place is very... 更多
The Sivagiri Ashram is situated on a hill and has a serene ambiance.. One could just relax in one of the open halls and feel the continuous breeze or walk around the hill and the temple within. Guru pooja serves a very simple lunch for Rs.50/-
Still maintained well as it was when Sree Narayana Guru was there. If you go with faith within you, you can feel that energy there, a must visit place when you visit varkala
