This is just a small construction which gives you a decent view of the backwaters. This is where the ferry to Tannirbhavi beach starts, so, combine the two trips. Not worth a separate visit.
This is a historical spot but has been reduced to a spot where people meet in the evenings and couples are spotted searching a spot in the shade. The place is poorly maintained and one could preferably skip it. makes sense going there only if you have time on hands with nothing to do!

The beach is located at a place where we have to cross the river in a speed boat or a steamer boat. You will find some white coloured Jelly Fish like creatures in that river. Yet the river view is good and the beach forest is a spot for photographers not to miss.
There's very little left of the 18th century fortifications at the northern end of Mangalore, the remnants of a fortified tower. Worth visiting to get a view of the river and the land across the river, several ferries can take you across. There are good views over the water from the top of the battery which would otherwise be well worth missing - very unkempt and lots of rubbish everywhere.
