Leh has many famous monasteries, Alchi is one of them. We went on a bike to enjoy the scenic beauty. To our surprise, roads are very well maintained. you wont find many people on the way while travelling, unless its a peak tourist season. we carried candies, stationery with us to distribute among local children. After visiting many monasteries(Gompas) in Bhutan, Tibet, Nepal & Mongolia, I could easily say that Alchi is one of the best preserved and least interrupted of its kind. Though small in size, it has many frescoes which hold Mandalas and miniature drawings that are second to none in the world.
Been to Alchi several times and will always go back. The monastery here is just amazing. The murals and frescoes inside are just amazing. Makes one wonder how the artists did is all- a huge respect for them. The area itself is quite vibrant. On a good day the village ladies gather in the monastery ground and sit there chatting... 更多
A Wonderful Place to Visit. Very Peace full place to pray and meditate. Giant Statues are very attractive. Mostly the people living around there are very calm.
