Unique museum with collection of kites..the evolution of the kites ... the role of kites in invention of the aeroplane by wright brothers.. the old photographs of great scientists...worth a visit as it is in the same complex of the main museum of Ahmedabad city... but the kite museum needs some facelift to attract more visitors

Away from the city hustle bustle this a good place to visit if you can spare 1.5 to 2 hrs. The collection of the kites is cool and the adjoining City Museum adds more to the visit. One of the most under rated museums I have ever seen. What a breadth and depth covered here... why don't they make it compulsory for children to visit this? why don't they charge as much money required to up keep? The maintenance is what is required and needs footfall. Brilliant place and definitely not to miss.
Gujarat has a rich tradition of kite flying and the museum was set up with objective of showcasing that culture. However the museum lacks enough variety on display to map this. The limited kites are displayed with little background knowledge. The historical aspect is sketchy. Avoid
