Saw lots of red footed boobies. Then saw many nazca boobies. Quite a few had eggs they were hatching. They either covered them with their bodies or with their feet to incubate. saw month old babies that were still all white. Nests were just the ground where they cleaned out a circle around the egg(s). Go if you can!
There is a coral beach here and the water is much cooler than I imagined and rough. There is so much to see . We spot some redfooted boobies and Nasca Boobies ( masked boobies) swallow tailed gull with there crayon box colored feet and red rimmed eyes and of course sea lions . I never got tired of taking... 更多
Obviously great bird watching. The boat ride out to genovesa was a bit rough so if you don't have sea legs going to see the red boobies on San cristobol at punta pit may be a better way to go. The only unique birds you will see here are the red footed boobies. The snorkeling was ok, but I would... 更多
We saw great Frigate Birds, Brown Pelicans, Red footed Boobies, Fur Seals and Galapagos Sea Lions. There was nature walks. Zodiac snorkeling and beach snorkeling and Kayaking. We had a great time.
Started the day climbing the Prince Philip steps and seeing all the wildlife up close. Blue footed boobies, red footed boobies, Galapagos short eared owl, Nasca boobies...you name it. Was on the Ecoventura boat M/S Letty. Followed this up with a Darwin Bay snorkel. Hammerhead sharks, lots of fish, sea turtles and sea lions. Afternoon was paddle boarding and kayaking... 更多
Darwin Bay is located on Genovesa Island, that is located quite some distance from the other islands and very few boats are allowed to go there. When we landed, we arrived in the nurseries of the Frigate Bird and Red-Footed Boobies. Absolute wonderful to see the puffed-up male Frigates and the feeding of the baby Frigates. Loved there'd-Footed Boobies. This... 更多
I'm not sure why blue footed boobies get most of the press because the red footed boobies are gorgeous and far more interesting imho. We really loved Genovesa including this 1st stop at Darwin Bay - highly recommended.
We anchored here during a trip on the Ocean Spray, and spent hours snorkeling, enjoying the beach, and walking the island and observing all the wildlife. A wonderful experience, which we highly recommend.
Genovesa is a long way from the main islands - 8-10 hours boat trip - but it was an amazing amount of bird life, including the rare red-footed booby. You feel very removed and remote from the other, more frequented islands of Galapagos - which is incredible given the number of boats and people there usually are around. Definitely visit... 更多
This whole place - Genovesa Island - was breathtaking and so interesting. There were birds everywhere, including the famous Blue Footed Boobies and also the equally interesting Red Footed Boobies. Not to forget the Frigate Birds constantly circling above, which somehow reminded me of Hitchcock.....
