The mountain bike trails are well kept, the scenery is awesome. It was a very relaxing, serene, and enjoyable trip. I enjoyed biking along the falling leaves and crisp fresh air.

We attended a 10 km volkswalk with about 40 others. There were two 5km loops available. These perambulated the many lakes there. Trails with natural surfaces were clear and easily walkable. As with other Michigan State parks, Fort Custer did not disappoint. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts on a camping vacation, or as a day trip. Trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian are well marked and maintained. A lake with a sandy beach, concession stand, restrooms, changing areas make for a wonderful day at the beach. We stayed in camp site 105, which conveniently and unknown to us has a little path that leads right to the blue line multi-use trail. That was lots of fun! It's a shady spot with mature trees. Even in wintertime, the cemetery is stunning, and a touching tribute to those men and women who served their country.
