This place is great, though it could use some improvements like elevated platforms and better paths. It's important to note that this is not a zoo. It is a home for bears that were raised in very small zoos and abused by humans. Visiting hours are in the early morning because that is when the bears come out to eat... 更多
Everyone was complaining about how difficult it was to find, but no one mentioned all the accessible landmarks. If you're heading south from Brasov, it's after the railroad tracks & on the right you'll see an orange house high up on a hill & you'll pass a construction / concrete lot on the right. You turn right immediately after the... 更多
the premise is excellent, saving bears from captivity and torture. the visit to the sanctuary however left me feeling that the bears had just been moved to a bigger version, with almost all the bears patrolling the fence waiting for feeding time. you can see the tracks where they walk back and forth all day every day. basically you watch... 更多
A must see for any animal-lover or kid, the sanctuary is beautifully built and maintained in a really great natural surrounding; it may be disturbing to understand how some people are (still) treating animals from the film you watch at the beginning of the visit, the place gives you hope people still have conscience and hearts to make things right... 更多
This was an eye opening experience. The bears here were kept in human capitivity and were no longer able to return to the wild as they do not have the skills to do so anymore. Each of them has a sad, if not tragic story, past. Many still have scars from the past. Fortunately, there is this sanctuary for them... 更多
It is nice to know that somebody takes good care about some poor misfortune animals. And here you will see how bears found good treatment after they have been mistreated by other "humans" before.
The visit started with a short movie which described the purpose of the project that led to the construction of the sanctuary. The bears here were previously tortured in circuses or restaurant and here they found a place that brings them closer to a natural habitat. The guide explained to us that they have intermediate phases of releasing the bears... 更多
The Bear Sanctuary is a very beautiful, spacious & calming Bear Resort! The Sanctuary houses both Bears & wolves that were rescued from horrible conditions. When looking at the resort you can tell that the animals are looked after with love. The Sanctuary provides 3 or 4 tours per day in the morning with limited guests, I would recommend calling... 更多
Bear Sanctuary at Zarnesti is a must. I had read the background on the foundation of the sanctuary which was useful.... guided tours in the mornings so the bears are not distressed all day. We had the visit which included on the of the feeding times. Bears well looked after in the natural habitat - their own retirement home.
We visited the bear sanctuary as a family of five adults in April, the ground was covered in a thick blanket of snow but it only added to the enchantment of our visit. We stayed in Brasov the night before and drove out to the sanctuary, we had phoned and pre booked our visit a few days in advance, which... 更多
The Sanctuary is definitely a must if you come to this region. All the bears you will find there were saved from different environments and brought to this half-wild place so that they could live a normal life. You will hear about their stories, some of them extremely touching, other rather tragical, and then you will see the bears as... 更多
This place make the World better. In a quiet Way, they do what they can to give hurt Bears a better life. Here is quiet and respectful. Visit this place! And you will send thankful thoughts too the founder and the people supporting and working here.
it is interesting if you want to see how people could change the life of wild animals. There are bears who are saved from restaurants, photographers or some other places. Honestly is quite sad to see them how we made suffer and made their behaviour different form the natural one.
