We went there twice with our 2 sets of school age grandchildren. Each time the rangers were amazing. The second time we went to the back entrance and happened to get there right at 11 AM for a tour of the actual hatchery usually closed to visitors because it is being kept fairly aseptic, "do not touch the water in... 更多
Brought our grandson here and we had a great time. We took lots of quarters for buying fish food-the highlight of the trip-feeding the fish. This is such a well maintained place with great staff and right off the biking trail if you ride from Petoskey. The under creek viewing area is awesome.
This was my first visit to Oden Stae Fish Hatchery and I must say that I will return again. The hatchery is located North East of Petoskey. The staff are very informative and helpful. The grounds are spacious and beautiful to walk through. There is a spot where you can observe the fish under water and several ponds where you... 更多
The Odon state fish hatchery is a must see for all people.it is family friendly and barrier free. We particularly enjoyed the underwater fish viewing area. There is s wide variety of wild flowers, easy walking trails, and interactive exhibits. Feeding the fish and the ducks was a particular treat. Bring some quarters for the fish food.
We have a 9 and 11 year old. We had the tour of the hatchery with Christine, who was so friendly and knowledgable. We all loved the tour, and our 11 year old, who loves fish and science, said it was the best part of our week long camping trip in Petoskey. We returned to Oden a few days later... 更多
We enjoyed our visit to the hatchery and it seemed that even the younger people in the group did as well. Our guide was personable and knew the answers to the questions everyone asked. The huge trout probably were the star of the show. It made a nice change from the usual outdoor activities.
Very good conducted tour, plus a good wander through grounds. Informative and fun for a family. Plan to spend at least an hour and maybe two.
Oden Fish Hatchery is a great little place to stop. They have a guided tour of the hatcheries as well as a hiking trail with glass viewing areas of the river. We visit often and always recommend it for others in the area.
