Less of a fully encompassing maritime museum and more a oystering museum. The museum consists of one large room full of items related to the local oyster industry including a boat, an aquarium and several hands on exhibits; the second room is a art gallery and they also have a few outdoor exhibits with oystering vessels on display. The museum... 更多
This is not a museum as you would expect by the name, but more of a historical building that now has small exhibits to explain the story of fishing oysters from the bay, from both a past and current point of view. It is quirky and interesting and certainly worth a visit if you are in the area!
We attended a wedding here and it really was spectacular! The ceremony took place around sunset on the outside deck, right on the water -- it was beautiful! The reception flowed well with the layout of the museum. Overall, it was really, really nice!
Set in an old oyster packing plant, a nice little local museum (free entrance). Also see the weekday free concerts and the great tours to the Thomas Point lighthouse
We held our summer staff retreat at the Annapolis Maritime Museum's Barge House. It certainly accommodated all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. It is a lovely cottage with a conference room that accommodated our meeting quite nicely and a kitchen with a refrigerator. We visited in July and it was one of the hottest days of the year... 更多
Great venue for a music festival 6-18+19th 2016 today and tomorrow. Plenty of space and good music to listen to. Available: eats, treats, tshirts. Come one come all. $15.00 admission.
very worthwhile stop. Streets are tight and parking is tighter, but it's free. Crabbing and fishing pier on site and the museum is a stark reminder of the destruction people can have on the world around them. The kids loved it and the local art was amazing.
This is a very worthwhile stop in Annapolis both for young children and adults who want to experience the history of the Oyster and how it cleans the Bay. Live fish tank, Climb aboard Oyster harvesting boat, NONA display as it monitors the Bay. Osprey display as one of the protected fishing birds on the Bay. Several videos on Oysters... 更多
I attended a wedding at this museum. The location is a bit tricky to get to (not their fault, the roads are small). It is right on the water, giving visitors a great view of the bay. The exhibits are low-key, but entertaining to adults and children.
