The main university building has very unusual color as for a building - dark red. It is beautiful and impressive, followed by many legends starting from students' blood in a fight for country's independence, finishing of a shame color due to results in their studies.
Just in front of the building is lying a beautiful park with many funny looking...
Other reviews state nothing special to draw you to this and not come especially for this. I disagree. The colour itself and the imposing nature of the building are a sufficient draw if you are in the area. It looks spectacular at sunset. Combine a visit here with a beer in one of the nearby cafes in the park and...
There is nothing else to really draw you to this building other than its interesting red colour. Facing Taras Shevchenko Park (and the large monument to the poet), it is worth a look if you are passing (or near; its quite close to The Golden Gate and National Ballet building). No need to make a special effort to visit.
This building is nothing really special. I did think the color was interesting though. And it kind of permeated in the sunlight. It's OK to see if your in the area. But I wouldn't go downtown specifically just for this.
