If you like knowing how in 1800 and early 1900s cold presses worked to get oil from fruits and nuts or how wine was maid you can not just read but actually see gargantuan wooden apparatus that did that. How water was converted into energy to run wooden structures for hulling, for softening wool and carpets. This place is very... 更多
Anyone nice enough to talk to us in Bucharest recommended the village museum so I was expecting great things. It was ok. if you've been to Bunratty Folk Park in Co. Clare, Ireland, the Village Museum will be disappointing in comparison. It was 10 lei to get in (approx. €2.50) and you buy the information leaflet from the shop -... 更多
I enjoyed wandering around the museum and reading about some of the display but would recommend a tour guide if you visit. I got there very late one afternoon and there were no tours available.
I ve visited the Village Museum so many times and i still can t get enough of it!!! Despite the fact that i ve reached my limit of visited museums, and i feel that they are all the same, this one is completly athypical! Is like the best combination of history, rudimental architecture and peaceful walk in a parc. Designed... 更多
It was a very interesting experience to visit this place. Usually you read about history of a country or visit a museum and check artifacts and old stuff which is nice. This place is special, because it shows you how people actually lived. You check the houses, you enter the houses, touch their walls, see their furniture. They no longer... 更多
This is a lovely, quirky museum with dozens of old buildings from across Romania. It's nicely laid out, and not far from the centre by taxi - well worth a visit on a sunny day. Not all the buildings are open.
Every concievable architechural style from every area of Romania are represented on this 28 acre+ refuge within the city of Bucharest. You will be transported to decades and centuries past, all accessible via ultra affordable taxi from all points within Bucharest.
Important place to visit in Bucharest to know more about traditions and crafts, life in countryside in Romania in the past. Very well preserved houses, furniture and old objects. All the regions of the country are represented. You are going back in time and this is a special feeling. Great shop with lots of things to buy as souvenirs.
A well maintained outdoor collection of old houses from various parts of the country from different times in the past. A nice setting and pleasant time if the weather is good.
Visiting the Village Museum was an awesome experience. I am always fascinated by different cultures and traditions. Romanian culture as shown in the museum was truly unique in many ways. It was interesting indeed! Worth visiting.
Great museum which displays various types of housing from different periods of time from various regions of the country. Well maintained. Highly recommended particularly for first time visitors to the country. Since all the major tour groups seem to go there, and in large numbers, I would suggest giving yourself ample time and go early.
I visited this museum for the first time when I was little and I came back again after a long time to see how things changed. The houses are well kept, there are all sorts of events going on there. It is great to bring your foreign friends and show them some romanian history and also the variety of house... 更多
Nice walk around the Village Museum showing houses from all over Romania all down the years. Good cafe for lunch which was appreciated as there are no others in near vicinity. We visited early May so maybe the ground keepers had not got into full swing as it coul have done with a good tidy up and grass cutting. I... 更多
