Jewish Museum of Bosnia&Herzegovina is located in the old Synagogue of Sarajevo, in the old town of the city. It is a good museum, where you can learn about the life of Jews in Sarajevo and in the country. The most important piece is the Haggard, a very important Jew manuscript, which was almost destroyed twice: when Jews were expelled... 更多
Although not Jewish, we found the Jewish Museum , housed in the oldest synagogue in Bosnia, built in 1581, worth the visit. The museum grounds offer quiet seclusion from the bustle of Sarajevo. The interior explains the role of the Jewish community in Sarajevo and contributions to the world. Most unsettling was the section devoted to the plight of Jews... 更多
A fairly small museum with a not particularly large collection which is nevertheless worth a visit. I went in with only a slight knowledge of the history of Jews in Sarajevo, and I left with a better understanding of their presence in the city and how they fit into the larger picture of the city's history. I also left with,... 更多
Tucked into a corner between Bascarsija (Old town) and the Austro Hungarian section of downtown Sarajevo this is a short, but interesting peek into the history of a hidden people group in Sarajevo, Bosnia I Herzegovina's past, the Saphiric Jews. This is a simple but beautiful building tucked into a little park just a quarter block off of the main... 更多

There are videos screened with more information, the only problem with these being that they are shown in rotation so if you miss the beginning of one, it doesn't come round again. A visit needn't take too long, depending on your... 更多
A small, but interesting museum in an ancient synagogue. Old photos and artifacts, showing Jewish life in Sarajevo.
We were pleasantly surprised by the depth of the history in this museum. We especially liked the focus on sports, arts, theatre, and charitable work. We have been in many Jewish history museums all over Eastern Europe and this is the first one to really include those influences in detail. The exhibit is well displayed in the three story synagogue.... 更多
This museum is nicely set up, narrating the history of the Jewish community in Sarajevo through the ages. The building is quite beautiful, and our guide was very knowledgeable and willing to entertain a million questions. Spending an hour here is well worth your time.
While in Sarajevo, venture into its places of worship, whether you are religious or not. Within a small area of the old part of town you will be able to visit Gazi Husrev Bey's Mosque, the Old Orthodox Church, Cathedral of Jesus' Sacred Heart and the Ashkenazi Synagogue. But this is the old temple which is now the Jewish Museum.... 更多
