Full of hippies ready to sell you "handcraft" tchotchkes. Great place to grab food or stay while you're in Cusco. The area is safe and pretty clean. Watch out for the land mines (dog pooh) located on the sidewalk is everywhere
We stayed at the Tika Wasi Boutique hotel, 491 Esquina 7 Angelitos. Great views and easy walking to Plaza de Armas, and the many shops and restaurants in the San Blas neighborhood. Fine art to nick nacks are available.
It reminded me a bit of Santorini, Greece. Beautiful white buildings with blue trip on the hillside looking over Cusco. It's a gorgeous walk from Cusco and would make an excellent day trip with Sacsayhuaman and Cristoblanco.

San Blas is the old town portion of Cusco. It holds so much character and is just a few blocks from the main plaza. The main square has a delightful area to relax next to an amazing water feature. We stayed in the San Blas area of Cusco for 5 nights and enjoyed this area very much. Many great restaurants and the area is safe anytime of the day. You can easily walk to pretty much anywhere you need to go and if you cannot, there are taxi's readily available since there are lots of stairs to climb up... 更多

But be prepared for steep walks up and down uneven streets with very narrow sidewalks (or none at all). Try The Meeting Place for good cafe food, The King of Maps for... 更多
