There is no shortage of scenery or dramatic views. Your heart rate will climb as you ascend toward the heavens. There is a time for everyone to be at a specific place and mine was met on the Salkantay Trek.
I hiked salkantay in August. We didn't get to see the summit of Salkantay montain has it was snowing when we reached the highest point of our trek. The trek itself was an amazing experience. 5kg from your kit will be carried by a horse along the trail. Do not bring to much with you, only the essential and make... 更多
I had high expectations but Salkantay Trail has surpassed them all and provided me with the most beautiful and diversified hike i have ever done. It is not an easy hike and certainly not for everyone, but for those looking for a more adventurous option to the inca trail. Days 2 and 3 are absolutely awesome. We chose the option... 更多
I have just returned from doing the Classic 5 day Salkantay Trek and it was amazing. The guide was KJ and the assistant guide was Manu. Both were great encouraging you when you needed it and very knowledgeable of the area and history. I paid $400 but extra for a sleeping bag which I would recommend. The trek is hard... 更多

A member of our group was sick by camp the first night and was unsure if she could continue. At this point you are at high altitude and risk altitude sickness. It wasn't... 更多
We planned our trip to Peru at the last moment so were not able to get a pass for the Inca trail. We read good reviews on line about the Salcantay hike so were excited when we started off. The first day of hiking was fairly easy and the view from the campsite at the foot of Salcantay spectacular. When... 更多
So much more difficult than I anticipated. The altitude was very challenging for me. However, with the help of a mule I made it up! The views were amazing and our group was great! It was definitely worth doing.
