If you don't get to the funicular by its opening time (10 am), there forms a long line and it takes around 30-40 min to get to the top. Once there, climb the ramp up to the virgin for the best view; the view G the virgin statue is actually blocked by trees.

Had the pleasure of strolling through the park after climbing to see Santuario de la inmaculada concepcion - being a Saturday there were hundreds of people either walking, running or cycling - it's certainly a lovely park and there are good views of Santiago from various vantage points.
