This church is the oldest church in Jakarta.
this called as Gereja Sion located in Pinangsia District, Taman Sari, Jakarta, Indonesia. this Church was built from 1695, it is the oldest church still standing in Jakarta.
it is worth to visit during your stay in Jakarta
theres not much old heritage for ducth era in jakarta (ie. batavia) reserved.. having one of the interesting culture, and still in spirit of the portuguese sion is something to experience. if you are hunting with your lenses, it could be interesting. to get here you need to ask around and be ready with jakarta quite heavy street, but its...
if you are particularly interested in old churches or in Jakarta's history then maybe you will enjoy this place, but its not really a destination I would worry about taking visitors to. There aren't a lot of historic sites to see in Jakarta but this is one of them.
Maybe this church is one of the oldest building in Jakarta, that still in good maintenance and has same function as a "church". I love the structure of the building, the architecture and of course the history behind this building.
