If you get the Luxor Pass, then go here, but if you just get the ticket for three tombs, pass this one up. There aren't all that many carvings or paintings, although the sarcophagus is a good one. But there are better tombs, such as Tutmose III, Ramses IV, Seti I, Ramses V/VI and Tausert.
The entrance corridors are decorated with texts from the Praising of Re and scenes from the Realm of the Dead (from the Book of the Gates). On the left side of the corridors is an excellent intricately painted relief of the king before Re-Harakhty. This is an example of tombs constructed after the Amarna period. Large and stately. Some construction errors are also evident, the lid of the sarcaphagus was too large for the passageways for example.
We visited Merenptah's tomb as one of the 4 our ticket allowed. It was pretty remarkable but not as colorful, detailed or large as the Tomb of Sety II which opened only a few weeks before our visit to the Valley of the KIngs. One of the 4 tombs visited at the valley of the kings. This was huge and was the biggest and deepest tomb with a very steep angle of descent into the tomb. The walls still has the original colouring. Make sure you have really good footwear as it is steep. The wooden floorboards have slats in them every couple of... 更多
Saw it as one of the three tombs in Valley of Kings. A very steep downward reaches you to the tomb. There are the coffin while the mummy is not here. Adeqquate markings of what the things are is not placed. The guard do not understand English and cannot explain in detail about the wall paintings and the tomb
When you buy your ticket to Valley of the Kings you get three tombs to go into, make sure this is one of the three. The Sarcophagus is unique and they set it up well inside. Plenty of color and engravings to keep you busy looking.
