Don't bother paying the fee to use your camera, you can take photos anyway.. Photos are allowed once you go up stairs, and it is possible to take great snaps.....the church is ...just big..very impressive !

This church (one of the largest in the world) is truly impressive. We had an excellent tour guide who knew the building from top to bottom as well as the best photo spots. We had a full day to spend in Abidjan so we had our hotel (we used the Sofitel) arrange for a car and driver. It was not cheap.....a bit less than 2x the taxi rate, but we had him for the day.....although there were a couple times when he kept calling his boss to see if he could take us... 更多
I got a chance to visit the Bassilica in Yamoussoukro this year. From far, you may not think it carries a lot of details and intricacies on catholic faith. While not of the Catholic faith, I was awestruck by this incredible place. Frankly, it is impossible to visit without feeling a sense of awe. Every inch is a work of art, and the sheer majesty of the place is somewhat overwhelming. An absolute architectural masterpiece, not to be missed.
