Not for the faint-hearted or those afraid of heights. Cannot be done without a 4x4 but if you have time and weather is good well worth the effort. Allow 5 to 7 hours, take water, snacks and a warm garment in case. DO NOT DO THIS IF RAINING OR A THREAT OF CHANGEABLE WEATHER. Check with your accommodation before you set... 更多
Great fun - lots of climbing and clambering. Not for the infirm, very young or very old perhaps - its quite a challenge to get through some of the canyon. Best to park one end and walk through if you can sort out your transport logistics.
Snake Canyon or Wadi Bani Awf is a huge gorge which you make your way through by abseiling , swimming, cliff jumping and climbing. It was one of our best days in Oman and can be done by anyone with a sense of adventure and reasonable fitness level including teens! There are two routes, the full route which takes 4-5... 更多
During the Eid Holidays we went on an offroad trip towards Al Hamra. Passing through Wadi bani awf, we passed through The Snake Canyon and Little snake canyons. A good 4 wheel drive is definitely a must, and pack extra water, supplies... 更多
..... Don't do it without a guide or an expat or local guide to keep you safe We've done it with kids as young as 9 and ropes etc and had a ball but any sign of cloud at all and the flash floods will and have killed people here. There's a great account a few reviews back to tell... 更多
Nice trek, starting in the village Bilad Sayt in the wadi Bani Awuf. Very airy trip, sometime hands needed for fixing on the rock, however not clibing literally, I recommend!
I read about one of Oman’s quaint villages, Bilad Sayt, as “tranquil, with an antique old world appeal and its patchwork of terrace farming and traditional houses laid out against the rocky slopes”. But when we get to the top of a hill looking down on this ‘promised land’, we ask the driver to take us home. Strange? No! Pam,... 更多
