We stopped here on our way to the dead sea. The castle is a ruin so you probably need a lot of imagination and being shown around helped. The gory history boosted its interest for me. I'm not advocating throwing people off a parapet to boost your ratings but I did find it interesting.
This was an interesting attraction but if you are not in the area then it is not necessary to go our out your way to see it. I will add though that the views were very nice from the vantage point.
This castle looks great and was nice to walk through. Also some great views. We had a guide though that could tell us a lot about its history, which helped a lot imo. I imagine it to be "just another ruin" without a guide.
I'm not big on history, but as castles go, Kerak Castle is really quite well preserved and you have access to pretty much explore all of it. The views alone once you're at the top are worth going for. I wouldn't necessarily go back, but I very much enjoyed my visit there
If you are in the area do visit, if not, don't go out of your way. The city is interesting to drive though and the castle offers beautiful views of the valley and the Dead Sea. The castle itself is not very well restored. The brochures pay a much better picture than reality.
The castle looks great as you approach it and thee views from the top are very good but most of the castle inside is just ruins. It is worth the stop for a break if you are passing but I wouldn't make a day trip just to see it. The drive up the hill is interesting as you pass through... 更多
