Even for those of us who grew up thinking the Kennedy assassination was a horrible tragedy, this memorial is still a bit...odd (if I were more critical, I might even say irrelevant). It occupies an incredibly beautiful mountaintop, just outside Jerusalem, overlooking two steep valleys -- so for the view, it's worth making the trip. But to be honest, there...
The concrete memorial is very unattractive. Inside is cold and empty, with a bas-relief of JFK tucked away, completely out of proportion to the inner space. Each pillar has a state seal - why? What does that have to do with anything?
The saving grace is the view from up on high, which is beautiful.
