There's a nice dock to snorkel, not too crowded mostly, don't drive especially for it, but if you're around - that's a fair option. might be a little tricky with the parking options, unless you stay in the hotel itself.
The boardwalk has different hotels, restaurants, stores to shop and attractions like a small theme park. One of the attractions will give you the option to view Eilat from above and its just breath taking.
About 5 min drive towards (actually next to) the Egyptian border there is this small beach with dock that gets you into the water without destroying your feet, and even more important, the coral! By far one of the highlights of our trip. This is a great place to snorkel and scuba dive to see the reefs. The best part was it was free and far enough away from the city that it was not crowded. Definitely visit!
