Santral Istanbul is always a good idea with kids. The Energy Museum entrance is free now. Toilets are always clean. There is a new shop and cafe in the museum building. The concept is wonderful. Coffee was great.
Some experiments were broken. I hope these will be fixed soon.
I have never bought a museum's t-shirt. But here, I HAD to have one to tell the world just how much of a fan I am of Santral Istanbul!
Half of the time I walked around with my mouth open, the other half I was having way too much fun taking pictures of all the old machines, control panels etc....
Located on the ground of Bilgi University just north of the end of the Golden Horn, this now decommissioned electric generating plant was probably the first in Istanbul and was obviously expanded over time as power needs increased.
A VERY important thing: Even if you write the name and address of this museum on paper and have fair Turkish language...
