Great way to get around, if a little hair raising at first! Don't hang around getting on or off! But extremely cheap way of travelling a good distance quickly. And you are there with all the locals travelling to and from work and grocery shopping. Do it at least once.
I hear to often people complaining about bangkok's traffic ..Blah blah blah... first traffic is where cars are. you can travel from sukhumvit ekamai to pratunam in 15 minutes at super busy hours on friday the last day of the month! The only downside, the smell and the splashes from Klong's water... ewwww! but tif you are prepared it won't... 更多
I love getting a river taxi at Saphin Taksin Pier close to Shangri La hotel and doing a 2 hour tour down the Klongs, for me this is a perfect way to while away a few hours watching Bangkok go by, seeing the Monitor Lizards and the markets. Go and feed the cat fish and usually get drowned by their... 更多
A very quick option to move from A to B. Stinky water but great adventure. You need to buy your ticker via Hand-sign. This could be a lill tricky. So you really need to check in advanced where to go and how much it costs. The boad are very loud. Its not like a relaxed tour, but its great fun... 更多
As the ancient Venice of the East Bangkok was built around Klongs (canals). Originally a cluster of farming communities the locals would use the waterways to visit friends and go to market. There remain great sights along some of the Klongs ( one memorable one for me is the knife sharpener. He rode along in his little canoe and blew... 更多
I took one of these boats in order to get to Wat Arun, the temple of dawn, and it was quite a cultural experience. They are like ferries in that they wait until full (20 people) before they leave. It's was 3BHT to cross the river
The boat ride along the Klongs (canals) of Bangkok was excellent. Our boat crisscrossed Bangkok using the network of Klongs with glimpses of the still active water borne life of the residents of Nonthaburi, from their stilted homes and temples to boats selling local produce. We had a good guide with a first class commentary.
Many years ago I was in Bangkok and took a klong boat tour. In those days there were many more klongs and it was great to see the life along them, which was very traditional. Old houses made of teak, kids diving into the dirty water, etc. Those communities are mostly gone now. Recently I took a tour with some... 更多

We took a taxi to Thornburi as this was where we had researched to be the best place to get a klong tour. We paid 1200 baht with no haggling and headed to the pier. Most people were getting on the long boats, but for some reason we were put on a larger wooden boat, I think the boys were... 更多
