It s one of the places hard to find without a guide. I went several times from different directions with different people and still I cannot tell you the way. The place is very special, a real sanctum and very original. Not many tourist find their way, but you can see many Nepalis visiting the temple.
The sanctum of the temple is enclosed with ugly iron grills to prevent theft of idols. The walls are covered in glided images and the temple has a beautiful tympanum. Hidden inside a busy crossing in Thamel, this temple was a nice surprise during my visit to KTM. Apparently it wasn't affected by the earthquake and there are many interesting statues. Definitely worth a quick visit.

This is an old and very important Temple for local Newari people. There are a lot of ancient things in the courtyard and and the Temple is really magnificent. Hopefully it wasn't damaged in the earthquake. I like the place a lot and used to visit time to time just to refresh the 'spirit' so to speak.
