This is not just a library, but an entire complex of buildings. The welcome center is first and you buy tickets and see the film there (also the gift shop). Then you go to the house, which is completely authentic and in its original location - other houses have been moved. The tour there is guided and informative. Next is... 更多
Beautiful setting at the Eisenhower boyhood home in Abilene KS. The museum contains extensive displays of WWII history, beginning to end. Mamie Eisenhower has a nice display of clothing and items from her years as wife of the commander-in-chief of the Allied Forces WWII, 5-star General, and first lady during Dwight's 8 years as President. The Eisenhower home where Dwight... 更多
In all fairness I toured the Eisenhower Library in Abilene just ten days after visiting the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. I toured Ike's boyhood home, The museum, and "The Place of Meditation." The childhood home tour was short but informational. I was amazed to learn how successful all six of the Eisenhower boys became. The museum was also informational... 更多

We were on a long road trip and looking for a place to stop and stretch our legs. It's a great museum and home tour and taught all of us a lot about Eisenhower's presidency and his life. Definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a historical way to spend a few hours. Friendly staff too!!
If you happen to be traveling close to Abilene, KS, make it a point to stop at the Dwight D Eisenhower Library and museum. If you are a history buff, you won't be disappointed! I enjoyed all the memorabilia especially from WWII and his presidential era. Make sure to plan enough time as there is a lot to look at!... 更多
Don't get me wrong. I'm happy that I got to see this Presidential Library. It just needs some updating. The lighting was dark, and there was a LOT to read. It would also be good to modernize; to include videos, or interactive exhibits. We spent over an hour just going through the history of World War II, without much mention... 更多
I thought it would take only an hour or so to see everything...what a surprise. We spent over 4 hours and still did not see everything in the library portion. Just a place for a wonderful relaxing, educational experience. Even the grounds are just peaceful. Would recommend this for everyone to experience.
We hadn't planned on stopping in Abilene but were drawn in by signs directing us to this attraction. I am glad we took the time to stop. My teens are both history buffs, and the museum was interesting with many displays and lots of valuable information. The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained. I especially enjoyed the brief tour of Ike's... 更多
