Naabi Hill is your first introduction to the Serengeti. You can walk to the top and see the miles and miles of grasslands which surround you...full of grazing animals..
It is worth the (easy) climb here. You have to wait for gate formalities anyhow, so may as well make the most of your time. A great introduction to the iconic Serengeti. It makes you truly start to realise the aptness of the name - meaning "endless plains".
This is the way to enter the park. As your guide checks in, you can enjoy a walk up to the top of the hill. We saw lizards up there. We were able to purchase a soda, use the bathroom, and buy a few local products.
The Terrain. The Storm. The Acacia Trees. The Animals. All unforgettable. The picnic was pretty good at Naabi Hill. The stork wanted to join us at the tables.
Naabi Hill is the main gate into the Serengeti and all guides have to stop here to check in and out - this is a time consuming process!
