This gate is an icon of Meknes and in Morocco. It is a must to take a photo with this gate as the background. Needs a local passerby to tell you the history of this gate. There is a 50% chance that a Moroccan in Meknes will speak English.
We were keen to see this and went in the middle of the day on a particularly hot day which was above 40 degrees Celsius. Try to go when it's early or later in the day to enjoy it's beauty! It was impossible to get a picture without any people as there were a few locals sitting in the shade... 更多
It is a wonderful gate. Uses the Roman pillars too. History just speaks when you look at the gate. We did the tour to Meknes from Fes by ourselves. Do not get carried away by all the tour operators in Fes. The train service is excellent between the two cities.
It's a gate. You'll stop for two minutes to take a photo. Then you'll go on to something more interesting. There are so many gates, none of them are memorable.
the only thing to do while in Meknes is visit this gate and El Hedim. The good part is that Bab Mansour its way more beatifull than Bab Boujould in Fez so it's worth the visit
