Amazing drive around the north side of west Maui. Crazy twisty road with lots of one lane bridges and single lane road so leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and experience. Plan on stopping often for amazing coastal views and to pick up some banana bread.
Driving on Hwy 30 is completely safe, as long as you are careful and take your time around the turns. While Hwy 30 ends before Nakalele Blowhole (and turns into Hwy 340), the entire road up until the Blowhole is smoothly paved with clear yellow lines. The coastline is beautiful and there are plenty of scenic overlooks. Beware of falling... 更多
The views along this drive are outstanding although drivers need to be cautious for rock falls on the road! We stopped in several locations and saw whales breaching and diving down showing their tails. We weren't sure how far to go knowing the road condition became poor - maybe naïve but we expected a sign warning us the conditions would... 更多
We just completed this drive and drove it from East to West or counterclockwise. The weather was great . The road is in good condition and paved all the way . However there are some narrow single lane stretches with blind corners and caution must be used. Most folks were very courteous and safety conscious when meeting them on the... 更多

The road, for the most part, is quite nice. There's a few spots where if you meet an on-coming car you... 更多
If you are leary of driving on narrow 1 lane roads, with turnouts, have someone else drive on this stretch. For those who have lived in the PNW and driven logging roads in the mountains, this drive is like that, but only paved. This road is less traveled than the well-known Hana Highway, but what it lacks in notoriety, it... 更多
This is a scary world class drive on a twisty hilly road with incredible views. We went over and came back the same way. It is worth it as you get different views. There are not a lot of places to visit but if you do you will seem some world class views and art galleries. It is best done on... 更多
There are two parts to Maui; the tourist, golfers, honeymooners, resort guests parts, and then there are the other parts. Obviously the Hana Highway and Haleakala Volcano occupy the vast majority of the southern part of the island, but then there's the northern part. A huge part of the northern part of the island is protected and cannot be accessed,... 更多
