My family and I decided to spend a half day in Athens during our annual road trip vacation. We knew we had time to visit two sites in Athens and chose to visit the Bear Hollow Zoo as our first stop. We really enjoyed being able to see the animals in the zoo up close; they appear to be healthy... 更多
This small zoo is home of many Georgia native species, where many can be seen in what closely resembles their natural habitat. It's free to visit, but donations are welcome. Thanks to all of the shade, it makes a nice place to beat the heat of summer, while enjoying a little hike. The zoo is next to a public pool, and... 更多
This zoo may be small but it is a great way to see some pretty great animals at no cost. I've been coming to this zoo since I was a little girl. Now I have 2 kids of my own and they love going to the zoo and park.
I went during their Christmas celebration, and it was such a fun and cute experience. They had hot chocolate, and you could still see most of the animals.
This is a small little zoo that takes less than an hour to walk through. However it is free, and the grounds are maintained well. I loved all the shade trees on the hot summer day. As I said it is small, but my kids really enjoyed it.
I visit this zoo all the time. It's free! There are many animals live here - bears, Eagles, owls, bobcat, deer, turkey, alligator, snakes, tortoise, otters, opossum, vulture and a butterfly garden. The reptile house where the snakes and frogs live may not open all the time, but if you see someone who works there, you can always ask. Lots... 更多
Wonderful wildlife refuge with an array of rehabbing native species . Excellent, FREE and a great way to kill an hour or two. Quiet respite for family and solos
Very relaxing. Great for all ages! Picknicing, hiking (paved and non), swimming, dog park, turtles galore in the pond near the playground and picnic area....very quiet and all well maintained. Felt very safe on my solo visit. Great escape from day to day hussle and bussle.
We drove up and the scene was just tranquil and peaceful. It was trees everywhere and greenery. They had a tennis court where people were playing and people were gathered outside the pool house waiting to get in and cool off. We parked and walked down the trail anxious to see the animals. They had a good mix of animals... 更多
It's a great little zoo with native animals. I believe it only takes animals that are injured or cannot be in the wild for other reasons (which I love) versus bigger zoos that are profit driven and not necessarily looking out for the animals best interest. It's free to come in, but you can make donations to help keep the... 更多
