This relative short hike from Parque Central gives you a bit of exercise, a great view of Xela, and a thrill on the concrete slipper slides. (You need to sit on card board and not have your knuckles rub the concrete on the way down.) I went flying over the bumps and made several trips.
Pretty little hike through nature up to Baul. The view is definitely worth it. You can see the entire valley of Xela. Nice park to hang out in up top as well. Be careful that you only visit during busier times as there have been instances of theft.
It was a nice walk, but form the central square area you will have to walk down calle 3 & 5 through some areas where it does not feel comfortable. In a month here in Xela I've seen men relieving themselves in the street 3 times and all were on this walk. Once you get to the top it's a... 更多
This is a small, natural geologic formation of some interest that provides an immediate photo opportunity. The sad issue is that locals are trAhing it with litter, as all too often they trash their otherwise beautiful roadside landscapes. It is a short walk from the central market area of Momostenango, so you are likely to want to pay a visit;... 更多
This is a great place to visit high above the city of Quetzaltenango! We have been coming here for over 30 years to enjoy the nature an birds eye view of the city! We have brought out children to play and we have had wonderful cook outs there as well! Great for taking photos!
A group of us from PLQ (Spanish School) hiked this one morning. Beautiful view of Xela and wonderful to get out of the city smog. There are slides built into the mountain that were fun to slide down.
We had a car and some time so drove up here. The view is nice but otherwise there is not much of interest here for a tourist. More a spot for families to go and BBQ on the weekend.
What a lovely spot to visit, it is one of the highest points in Quetzaltenango (Xela) looking out over all of Xela. It's a wooded area with areas that families gather for picnics and parties and a bit of piñata battering. Plenty of space for football and other games. There are some slides too, it's fun to watch the kids... 更多
I've visited El Baul several times and have enjoyed it more and more. It's an easy way to escape the city and immerse yourself in nature and fresh air. I prefer to walk in the morning as it can get hot during the afternoon in areas without shade. I've been advised by locals not to be up there when it... 更多
