I stopped in here while wandering Apalachicola with my 2 year old. It was welcoming offering a variety of books for all ages. I happened to see some gifts, teas as well as other items I would have loved to peruse. My error was having brought my 2 year old in with me. She had no interest in being indoors... 更多
After lunch at The Owl, my husband and I stopped by Downtown Books and Purl. What a delightful shop! There was a great selection of regional literature including both fiction and natural history as well as guides for various aspects of Panhandle "nature". This grandma was pleased to discover an excellent selection of children's books as well. The books were... 更多
Where else could you find: amazing books, gourmet tea and accessories, unique coloring pencils and books, yarn, gorgeous french cards and a delightful owner who is also a major( as is yours truly ) " Confederacy of Dunes" fan ? None but here that I am aware of. This is a wonderful place to peruse and feel at home. I... 更多
Found cards, magazines, books, an owner (who was both knowledgeable and charming). This town is so lucky to have this shop and it speaks well for a community that supports this shop..... And I wish I could knit. Lovely colorful yarn tucked in the back of the store.
Absolutely adorable book shop. If you're looking for something with local information they have everything about Florida, and of course the classics and popular literature. They have amazing children's books about the beach and Florida also. Our boys loved it and we plan on coming back!
Spent the day roaming the town with three teenagers! Stopped in this store - Great Book Store! Wish I could of stayed longer, teenagers! I promise to return!!
If you are a knitter like I am, this store holds a small, but well stocked section of quality yarns in the back and books for the rest of your party to browse in the front. I was able to buy some new to me brands of yarn such as Queensland Collection and Viking of Norway and some old favorites... 更多
They have a nice variety of books, and they also have some gift things there as well. My mother in law but a game of "Bug" Bingo for the kids. Very friendly staff, and cool music in the background as well.
Camping on SGI and I'm out of yarn. I sigh heavily as I struggle for service and hopefully search maps and TripAdvisor for yarn stores in the area. Alas. None showed up. BUT! Whilst meandering the ACola streets I see a sign for "Books and Purl". Of course only a knitter would recognize "purl". So I excitedly drug my partner... 更多
